Vortex Data Systems Expands its Curriculum with
Oracle Training
SAN DIEGO, CA, March 22,
2001 – Vortex Data Systems, San Diego's premier technical
education center, today announced that it has once again expanded its
program offerings by adding training for Oracle 8i, a popular and powerful
Internet database technology. Oracle joins an already comprehensive array of
high-end technical programs from Vortex that includes authorized training
for Microsoft, Novell, CompTIA, Cisco, Citrix, Linux, and iGeneration.
According to Vortex CEO Paul Christiansen, "We are responding to a
growing need for Oracle training in the marketplace. We are aware that
Oracle expertise is becoming increasingly sought-after in the Information
Technology arena. Adding it to our schedule clearly fits our corporate
mission to enhance our customers' business through the integration of people
and technology."
Beginning in late May, Vortex will offer six different Oracle 8i classes.
All but the Oracle Fundamentals, a foundation course, will prepare
candidates for Oracle Database Administration exams. As an added incentive,
and for a limited time, students will receive a 15% discount off the
standard price for all Vortex Oracle classes.
As the leading developer of database management systems software, Oracle has
positioned itself as the software that powers the Internet. This power is
evidenced by a complex and robust technology that lets multiple users and
applications access the same data simultaneously. Oracle's flexibility
allows it to run on everything from notebooks to mainframes and its fully
web-enabled configuration makes it the ideal solution for e-commerce
business enterprises. Being fully web-enabled means that Oracle Software
meets the IT Industry criteria of scalability, reliability, interoperability
and speed.
Vortex General Manager Catherine Bristol explained, "Given this power
and complexity, it stands to reason that skilled developers, engineers and
administrators are needed to support Oracle installations. Vortex hopes to
provide some needed training to this segment of the market with the
introduction of its Oracle 8i curriculum."
