Vortex Data Systems Announces a New Microsoft Training Delivery Network

The new consortium will be working closely with Microsoft to develop cutting-edge training solutions that can be delivered on a national basis.  “The fact that each member of United Training is a strong independent Microsoft CTEC makes our consortium a powerful force in the effort to close the skills gap in the IT Industry,” said Christiansen.  The “skills gap” is the discrepancy between the jobs available for trained IT workers and the potential workers to fill those jobs.  An Information Technology Training Association study completed in March-April, 2000, estimated that only half of the 1.6 million skilled IT jobs available last year would be filled due to a shortage of qualified applicants.
